H. E. Mr. Li Baodong, Secretary General met with H. E. Ms. Yasoja Gunasekera, Additional Secretary of Sri Lanka Foreign Ministry during her stay in Zhuhai, Guangdong attending the 3rd Conference of the International Science and Technology Forum.
SG Li Baodong thanked Sri Lanka’s participation in and contribution to the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) as initial country. He also noted that Madam Secretary’s participation has embodied Sri Lanka devotion to science and innovation and made the voice of Asia heard. The BFA shall carry on its mission endowed by all initial countries, and further regional cooperation and development in favor of multilateralism and globalization.
Madam Ambassador Gunasekra spoke highly of the BFA’s role as multilateral dialogue platform connecting policy makers, private sector and thinkers. She pointed out that faced with global challenges such as climate change, the international community should work together and promote development. Sri Lanka will continue to engage with the BFA to foster regional cooperation and implement the sustainable development goals.
