On the morning of September 19th, the opening press conference of the third conference of the ISTIF was held at the 1F, Shizimen Hall A, Zhuhai International Convention Center. LI Baodong, Secretary-General of the Boao Forum for Asia; Esko Aho, Member of BFA Council of Advisors and Former Prime Minister of Finland; LEONG Vai Tac, Executive Chairman of the ISTIF, and LI Chong, Deputy Mayor of Zhuhai, delivered speeches. LI Baodong expressed that a new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation is reshaping the global economic structure and the world's innovation landscape. The current conference will revolve around the theme of "Innovation for a Green and Sustainable Future", focusing on cutting-edge trends in the field of scientific and technological innovation. It actively promotes the application of scientific and technological achievements and international exchange and cooperation, with a particular emphasis on important issues such as green development, improved quality of life, the establishment of regulations for artificial intelligence, maintaining the tradition while innovating in traditional Chinese medicine, and promoting international cooperation in technological innovation. He affirmed that the International Science, Technology, and Innovation Forum has successfully held two conferences, effectively promoting and supporting the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as well as international cooperation in the field of technological innovation. The third conference will continue to serve as an international platform, uniting various sectors including politics, business, academia, and research from different countries. In his speech, Esko Aho mentioned that this year is a special year for China-Finland cooperation, as the two countries have shared many commonalities in their collaborative development over the past 50 years. The integration of globalization and technological innovation has become the fundamental driving force for global growth. He emphasized that in the current global circumstances, there is an increased need to advance global scientific and technological cooperation. Aho stated that creation, innovation, and application are the three key points of technological innovation and development. It is not only necessary to let technology change people's lives but also to promote the iterative upgrading of human concepts.
LEONG Vai Tac expressed that as the co-host of this year's ISTIF, the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin is a highlight of this conference and an important embodiment of the conference's service to the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Since its establishment, the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin has always followed the guidance and deployment of the Overall Plan for the Construction of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. It has insisted on promoting moderate diversification of the Macao economy and the development of scientific research and high-end manufacturing industries, injecting strong momentum into the diversified development of Macao's industries. During this ISTIF, the International Frontier Technology Exhibition Hall of the Boao Forum for Asia's International Science, Technology, and Innovation Forum will also be unveiled in Hengqin, further leveraging the advantages of the Boao Forum for Asia as an international platform to promote international exchange and cooperation in the cooperation zone.
LI Chong expressed during the conference that with the accelerated development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Zhuhai has accumulated unprecedented development momentum and has been experiencing sustained economic and social progress.
