Session 9 She Power in Innovation(Invitation Only)

(Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Exchange Office) of CAST; Signe BRUDESET, the Ambassador of Norway to China and Mongolia; Yasoja GUNASEKERA, the Additional Secretary of Foreign Affairs

of Sri Lanka; SI han Bo CHEN, Head of Greater China of GSMA, GUO Jiao, Director of the Key Laboratory of Glucolipid Metabolic Diseases of Ministry of Education and Former President of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University; TANG Limei, First Female Scientist Diving to the Ocean with Jiaolong Submersible; DU Lan, Executive Director of Pearl River Investment Management Grop Co., Ltd and President of Guangdong Artificial Intelligence Industry Association; WEN Yufang, the Central Government Affairs Director of AstraZeneca China, and JIANG Chengbo, the Director of Corporate Affairs and Public Relations for SABIC Greater China. They discussed topics related to women's innovative capabilities. This session was a closed-door meeting without audience seating and was only open to invited guests.

The panelists in the conference discussed various aspects related to how women can balance family and work, the increasing status of women in society and the field of technology, the liberation of women through technology, the difficulties faced by Chinese women, and whether a quota system is suitable for China's national conditions. The representatives at the conference unanimously agreed that as women's involvement in the global innovation field continues to deepen, the power of women plays an important role in various aspects, such as China's style of modernization and the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as in building a more prosperous, harmonious, and progressive world and achieving a shared future for humanity. Innovation is a comprehensive system that encompasses basic research, technology development, industrial development, policy coordination, and market expansion. The positive role played by women in the new era is no longer limited to specific fields or projects but is pervasive throughout all aspects, processes, and industries related to innovation. Whether in policy formulation or implementation and development, women's contribution is indispensable.
